To all Trainees in Severn

Thank you for completing the 2010 GMC survey. You have ensured that the Severn Deanery has an excellent response rate.

Trainee survey 97.62% - highest national response rate (93.4% in 2009 also highest nationally)

Trainer survey 68.64% - second highest national response rate (20% in

2009 15th nationally)

This is extremely helpful in ensuring that our results are valid and reliable and can be used a sound basis for improving the quality of postgraduate medical education in the Severn Deanery.

We take the findings extremely seriously, for example, prioritising Trust quality visits based on this information. We also hold an active Risk Register of issues based on survey outliers which are being addressed by Heads of School and Directors of Medical Education. The findings are a key part of our Quality Panel Assessments for Training Posts undertaken by specialities.

The information from the trainer survey will inform our faculty training p...

ACCS Curriculum

Please see attached ACCS Curriculum for all new CT1s commencing training in August 2010, the School will be publishing specific guidance on the exact nature of WBA's in the near future.

This process has required a steep learning curve and these past few months have consequently enabled us to refine the process. One area of the process where we are experiencing some problems is with payment of expenses. The payments section require clear legible expenses forms and many of the forms we have submitted have been rejected due the deemed illegibility of the handwriting. To reduce this occurrence the Severn Deanery is now changing the policy and insisting that all expenses claim forms have to be typed in order for them to be processed. Any forms which are not typed from this date will be returned. Although this may seem an extra hassle we hope that by doing this the process will run much more smoothly and have less delays in payment.

May I also take this chance to thank you for your patience with regards to this new system and assure you that we are all tryi...

End of Placement Survey

All ACCS trainees should have received an email from Dr Tom Simpson, ACCS - Training Programme Director, regarding the End of Placement Survey, if not then do please contact us. Please follow the link for the survey -www.severndeanery.nhs.uk/End_of_Placement_Evaluation_Form.php....

Website Registration
